Saranda works to increase the regional and global competitiveness of Connecticut by supporting the development of strategies for business attraction and recruitment. Building on domestic and international private and public sector partnerships, she manages new-to-market business activities by facilitating investment opportunities seeking the best regional advantage for their next stage of growth.
Saranda previously worked at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, a state agency within the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, serving as liaison between the agency and external stakeholders. In the Waterbury Mayor’s Office, she coordinated initiatives with a focus on brownfields and environmental projects. And as the city’s communications manager, Saranda led the development of public messaging strategy, including marketing and media relations.
Saranda is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and is dedicated to giving back to programs that have a lasting impact on people's lives. She was a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury, teaching adults English as a Second Language, and was voted Vice Chairwoman of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee, which advised on the distribution of millions of dollars annually in grant funding to nonprofit groups. Saranda works to maximize every community’s social, cultural, economic, and environmental value by ensuring that they are poised for sustainability and growth.
